My mother Larisa (maiden name Yavaeva) was born in post-war 1947 in the small mining town of Rovenki.I know little about the history of my family, in those years it was dangerous to tell secrets to children... And then, when the USSR collapsed, I already lived in another city, we did not communicate often, we mostly talked about the children, about current/urgent affairs.I always thought that we still had a lot of time ahead and I would have time to ask about my grandmother Gala, about my grandfather Shahyazan, about my mother’s childhood and about mine... Since the 2000s, my mother went to Italy to earn money, worked in a nursing home, and looked after my grandmother.And in 2008, when she was driving to visit me, her car got into an accident... Mom died on the spot... I didn’t have time to ask her much, I’m very sorry.From what I remember: Her father, Shakhyazan Sabirovich Yavaev, was a Tatar, from a mullah’s family, after the war (1944-1946?) he moved his family to this town of Rovenki, from which region they moved, I don’t know for sure, but I think it was from Crimea.There during these years there was a mass deportation of Tatars, and whoever could/who knew in advance fled from there and took their families out, then it was easy to get lost in order to avoid deportation/persecution and make new documents in another city.Grandfather Shahyazan met my grandmother Galya (my mother’s mother) in the town of Kalach, near Voronezh, when their military unit was stationed there during the war.Afterwards, he somehow managed to tell his grandmother Gala that he had moved to Rovenki, and she loaded a pillow and a bundle of things onto a wheelbarrow - her entire dowry - and walked from there to him... In Rovenki they built a house, on 12 December Street, and my mother was born there...

(Original Text: Моя мама Лариса (девичья фамилия Яваева) родилась в послевоенном 1947 году в маленьком шахтерском городке Ровеньки. Я мало знаю об истории моей семьи, в те годы было опасно рассказывать детям секреты... А потом, когда СССР развалился, я уже жила в другом городе, мы нечасто общались, в основном говорили о детках, о делах текущих/ насущных. Я всегда думала, что у нас впереди еще много времени и я успею расспросить о моей бабушке Гале, о дедушке Шахязане, о мамином детстве и о моем... С 2000х мама ездила в Италию на заработки, работала в Доме престарелых, ухаживала за бабушкой. И в 2008 году, когда она ехала ко мне в гости, ее машина попала в аварию... Мама погибла на месте... Я много не успела расспросить ее, мне очень жаль. Из того что я помню: Ее отец, Шахязан Сабирович Яваев был татарином, из семьи муллы, он после войны (1944-1946год ?) перевез свою семью в этот городок Ровеньки, из каких краев они переехали, я точно не знаю, но думаю что из Крыма. Там в эти годы была массовая депортация татар, и кто мог/ кто знал заранее бежали оттуда и вывозили семьи, тогда можно было легко потеряться, чтоб избежать депортации/ преследования и сделать новые документы в другом городе. С моей бабушкой Галей (маминой мамой) дедушка Шахязан познакомился в городке Калач, под Воронежем, когда их воинская часть стояла там в годы войны. После он как то сумел сообщить бабушке Гале, что переехал в Ровеньки, и она погрузила на тачку подушку и узелок с вещами - все ее приданое и пешком пошла оттуда к нему... В Ровеньках они построили домик, на ул 12 Декабря, и там родилась моя мама...)
